Edit the video. This usually takes me 3 passes. The first is really general, just getting things in order. The second is triming things down. The third is tightening up the edits (getting rid of "ums", pauses, or dead space. Rearragneing order if clips if needed.
Add Video FX and transitions.
Add text.
Audio. Add background music, sound FX, and/or voiceover.

This is how I edit.
This is the first pass at the video edit (picture edit).
You will see me scroll the video back and forth, getting the curser just where I want it and then cutting the video.
Timing is EVERYTHING with editing. Watch your analytics to see where viewers drop off, then you'll be able to determine where you need something more interesting to keep their attention.
The first 3 seconds are crucial to getting them to stop scrolling. that's your HOOK! Visually, you can try a new angle or show us something we see everyday in a way that we never see it. Like putting the camera in the oven rather than watching from the outside.
After I get the picture edited, and I'm not going to mess with it any more, it's time to add in overlays and text. In this program, the overlays and text do NOT move with the video if you cut out more video (some programs the text and overlay is attached to a specific part of the video and will move.)
When everything is done the finishing touches are any filters, transitions and audio - like background music and special FX.
Notice the structure of the video.

Interest: Pain points they have. Those who experience this will be watching saying to themselves, "This is so me!"
Solution: My product will fix it
Result: As a result of my product, you can now enjoy things the way you want them to be.
CTA: Call to action. What do you want them to do next?
